Summit Leaders Announces Launch of 2018 Season

TORONTO, ON – Summit Leaders (“Summit”) is delighted to announce the launch of its 2018 season, which will be the third season that the organization will bring its entrepreneurial training program to Canadian students. This year, Summit will be running its program in five Canadian high schools in four cities across Canada. By the end of the 2018 season, over 200 high school students will have participated in Summit Leaders programs.

Summit Leaders is a not-for-profit organization that works to democratize access to business and entrepreneurship training, with the ultimate goal of supporting diversity and inclusion in Canadian business. Summit’s main activity is running start-up pitch competitions in Canadian high schools located in neighbourhoods facing external challenges. Students engaged in the program are paired with business mentors who provide educational support while acting as a source of information about job and career opportunities.

With the new year, Summit Leaders is also happy to announce the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors. Mr. Marco Clabassi and Mr. Aditya Badami of Toronto and Calgary, respectively, were appointed to the Board in [February], providing national depth to an already well-rounded slate of directors. Mr. Clabassi is a teacher in the Toronto District School Board with significant experience teaching in model and alternative schools while Mr. Badami practices and teaches corporate litigation and insolvency and restructuring at Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP and the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Law.

Together with the existing Summit Leaders Board and team of mentors, Mr. Clabassi and Mr. Badami look forward to steering Summit Leaders towards another successful year and a “pitch perfect” term-end competition for its participating 2018 students.
